1st Jul 2016. Charlene Thomas Just Misses Olympic Qualifying Time.
Charlene Thomas must have been the unluckiest athlete at last week's Olympic Trials, as she finished an excellent 3rd in the 1500m, but as she didn't have the qualifying times for either the European Championships or the Olympic Games she wasn't in the initial team selections for either. But at a meeting in Barcelona in Spain she achieved the time required for the Europeans, as she ran 4m 07.07s, which just missed the Olympic Qualifying Time by 7/100ths of a second! Unfortunately her performance came too late to be selected for Amsterdam.
