Although Matthew O'Connor was not quite able to reproduce his outright victory of last year, he still came an excellent 2nd in 33:09, with Ben Butler hot on his heels and pushing him all the way home in 3rd place, in a fine new PB of 33:11. Dale Worton also did well to finish 5th in a PB of 33:34, but possibly the best club performance came from 16 year old Matthew Hill, who finished an excellent 9th in 34:46. Another junior Mark Bostock ran a PB of 36:31, behind Stewart Knowles with 36:03, and other Harriers under 40 minutes were Glenn Shelley with 38:50, Craig Davidson 38:53 & Jeremy Frain 39:36.
Jenny Latham finished 2nd in the Ladies race and 28th overall in 37:22, and Nicky Steel & Louise Tayler were 8th & 9th in 40:49 & 40:59 respectively, to help the Ladies take the team prize as well. Alex Potter was 13th lady in 42:20 & Hayley Newbound 15th in 43:09. Race Results.
The race also incorporated the Club 10k Road Race Championship, and it was the third time that Matthew and Jenny have won the title.
It was also the 6th round of the Club Distance Runners League Championship, which is currently led by Ben Butler, ahead of Richard West and Ian Shipley.
