8th Apr 2018. Wakefield Ladies Win Team Prize at Manchester Marathon.
There were some great performances by the Wakefield ladies in the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon, which won them the team prize calculated by added up the finishing times of the first three runners home. Julie Briscoe had another outstanding run to finish 3rd lady and 55th overall, out of the huge field of around 10,000 runners. Her time was a New F40 Club Record of 2 hrs 41 mins 36 secs, beating Denise Tibbs previous F40 record from 2005, and a time less than 2 minutes off her PB and outright club record. Rebecca Zserdicky made a huge improvement to finish 53rd lady in 3:17:21, and Alex Potter also improved her PB by several minutes to record 3:20:41, and finish 69th lady. With these chip times Rebecca and Alex move up to 9th and 11th respectively in the club all-time list. For the men Darren Hewitt and Martin Holding ran well to record chip times of 3:18:01 and 3:20:27. Race Results.
