The Northern Vets T & F League meetings are open to all men over 40 and women over 35 and you simply turn up and compete for Wakefield Harriers AC. The cost is only £2 for 3 events (or less).
To enter the Championship Meetings you must be affiliated to BVAF by being a member of Northern Vets AC - this costs you £6 and membership lasts from 1 January to 31 December and is renewable annually.
I would encourage you to compete in the T & F League Meetings as you have a range of events to try - 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot, Discus, Javelin and Hammer. The points you gain in each event count for your club (Wakefield) and an annual shield is presented to the winning team in each age group. (40-49; 50-59; and over 60. The Ladies score in each 5 year age group and the total is combined after the last meeting to decide who has won the trophy. Last year's winners were Wakefield!
If all the Wakefield Veteran athletes would offer to compete, I am sure we would bring home some trophies.
