Fifth Meeting - Denby Dale

An excellent undulating and interesting course was the reward for those following Mike Logan's directions out to Denby Dale on Thursday, 28th October. We proved that it is possible to run a safe event in darkness. Combinations of university and work commitments as well as a more than usual crop of injuries (how's the toe Clive?) brought the numbers participating down to 11, but a good time was enjoyed by all - especially by the coal fire in the Travellers afterwards.
Welcome to Peter Farr and Graham Whitworth, making the first appearances of what we hope will be many.
An in form Steve Tibbs recorded his second win of the series.
The handicapping was very close with less than 3 minutes separating the finishers on handicap times. The men's handicap was won by Dave Brailsford with Sue Needham taking the women's prize.
Thanks very much to Mike Logan for the organisation, and Mike's partner and her mum who stood around in the cold to ensure no one got lost (we don't include Val Anderson who took a trip round Shelley High School by mistake).
