Wakefield had three field athletes in action in the Manchester School of Hammer Spring Invitation Meeting at Wythenshaw Athletics Stadium, Manchester, and all three throwers put in performances that bode well for the coming season.
U/20 thrower Robert Taylor was faced with some of England's top juniors but he responded well to throw a personal best 50.84 metres which earned him seventh place in the highly competitive field.
Helen Taylor was just below her best throwing 36.28 metres to finish third in the junior women's event and veteran performer Jenny Cunnane threw just over 42 metres to fill fifth position in the senior women's events.
