Lindsay followed up his Yorkshire County silver and the bronze medal he gained at the North of England championships with a terrific throw of 47.70m which brought him the coveted AAA U15 javelin title.

The Horbury based youngster, who only took up the sport last July, missed the English Schools finals through being unavailable to qualify at the West Yorkshire Schools Championships because he was on a family holiday in Turkey.

But be made amends by beating the first four in the English Schools final in the AAA championships, with the added bonus that his winning throw with the new specification javelin puts him at the top of this season's U15 rankings for the discipline.
