Wakefield Harriers had a large turnout of both male and female runners at the Yorkshire Veterans Millennium Race at Middleton Park, Leeds. The nature of the course was extremely hilly.
Top finishers in the men's 40-45 years group was Adam Cooper who was third in 30 mins 44 secs. And results for his teammates were Richard West (sixth in 32.04) Dave Brailsford (seventh in 32.14), Clive Grace (tenth in 32.26), and Steve Wilkinson(16th in 33.19).
Derek Price was the first male home in the over 45 age group in 34.25 with club-mate Mike Logan (male 40) finishing in 34.28.
Tony Audsley (M45) was the second Wakefield athlete in 37.23 and two places further back was Alan Staines (M50), the first Wakefield runner home in that age group.
Stuart Anderson (M60) was the first scorer for the Harriers in 37.41.
Dave Jeffrey (M50) finished in 38.28, Peter Farr completed in 39.47, and Joe Johnson (M55) was the first Harrier in his age group in 40.35. Graham Whitworth (M50) finished in 43.43.
Dot Hand, of Wakefield Harriers, was the first lady in the F55 race in 43.01 with Sue Needham (F45) finishing in 48.50, and Val Anderson (F55) completing in 53.20.
