Three Wakefield Harriers' female athletes were part of the successful West Yorkshire team which participated in a National Sports Hall Athletics event in Cleveland.

Nicole Welsh, Vicky Lambert and Ruth Laybourn helped the county overcome Tees Valley and Cumbria to secure first place.

Welsh struck gold in the long jump, with Lambert triumphant in the eight-lap event. Laybourn won gold in the two lap time trial with all three now going forward with their county to the National Indoor finals at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena.
