The penultimate meeting of the series saw us return to the old time-trial course at Haw Park. Many of the older hands will remember when up to 40 athletes would turn out to the almost weekly time-trials organised by Richard Hancock. Clive Grace sorted it for us and marked the course.

Fourteen athletes turned out and a good time was had by almost all (the detached three runners at the back - Sue, Val and Graham - all managed to get lost amidst the trees). A big welcome to two of the club's stalwarts: Brian Horsfall and Keith Singleton. For the benefit of younger and/or newer members, Brian was one of the club's leading fell runners in the days when a few of us would go off to the three peaks, Nevis, Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent, etc. (I still have a few nightmares about Pete Tucker's free helicopter ride off Nevis). Keith has been one of the Harrier's longest serving and best distance runners. It's good to see you guys - please do keep coming to the meetings.

The event was won by Brian and he also took the handicap prize (although not by very much). Despite that, Richard consolidated his lead at the top of the table and ensured he cannot now be caught for the over-all championship.
