A good event, decent course (but not the four miles we were led to believe), friendly pub and good company afterwards. What more could we want?
Twelve good souls turned out, including new boy Rob Whitworth who, on this evidence, could well prove to be an asset to the club. Birthday boy Tony White surprised us all by steaming in some 19 seconds ahead of favourite Richard West. Richard, though, managed to increase his lead at the top of the table by being a couple of places ahead of Mike Logan on the night. Dot Hand increased her lead also and Stuart Anderson went further ahead in the Vets table (and now cannot be caught).
The handicaps were a bit out as I was working on the distance being 4 miles when it turned out to be about 25% less. This meant that some excellent runs went unrewarded in the handicap prizes, but it's about time the handicap prizes were shared a bit more. By the way, what's wrong with jam? Next time, I'll buy peanut butter.
Thanks to Clive Grace for being at all road junctions, to Richard West for working out the course and arranging the pub, and to everyone else for their support. Amazing - Stuart started with everyone else, and Val didn't get lost.
