James Davies won his heat in the U20 400m in 50.63 secs, the fastest of the three heats.

Former junior internationals Emily Freeman and Fiona Westwood competed in the senior women's sprints. Freeman posted excellent times for the first meeting of the year of 7.69 secs (60m) and 24.24 secs (200m).

Long jumper Westwood, chasing speed for her event, clocked a useful 7.87 secs in the 60m.
