A good turn-out this month in the start of the run up to Christmas. Seventeen athletes (18 if you count Clive twice) made up 6 teams, each of three athletes, with a mix of abilities, all supporting each other. I admit I got the mix wrong and we ended up with 2 very strong teams, but plead forgiveness - it's difficult to sort out teams in the 10 minutes between getting the final entries in and the start. In the end, Craig Heppenstall's team which included Steve Wilkinson and Tony Audsley were clear winners over Mark Domaille's threesome of himself, Richard West and Graham Whitworth.

The only sour note to a very good evening was the attitude of the landlady at the Union who refused to allow children in. All of which will backfire on her as we now won't be using the pub as the base for the prize giving for the annual Christmas Handicaps.

Craig Heppenstall improved his lead in the league slightly with a superb time for the 2 miles of 10-39, whilst Dot Hand continues to dominate in the Ladies section.
