Wakefield Harriers U20 women's team recently competed in their first match in the National Junior Premier League at Liverpool finished a creditable third.
Top performers were Helen Taylor, who won the hammer by almost five metres, and Tara Wilson, who won the B triple jump competition.
Long jumper Kate Richardson was also a comfortable winner in her specialist event, with the club just missing out on second spot by two points.
Final match result: 1 Sale 286 pts, 2 Edinburgh 260, Wakefield 258, Wigan 222, Liverpool 220, Border 219-5, Solihull 213.5, Birchfield 144.
