Wakefield Harriers U20 men's team travelled to Gateshead for a Northern Tyne match losing out to winners Rowntrees AC.
Despite the defeat, Harriers remain in top spot with 15 points, the same as the York club, but Wakefield have a superior points total.
Wakefield won both the 100m races thanks to superb sprinting by John Uridge and Matt Young.
Martin Bernard triumphed in the high jump with a superb jump of 1.85m, while javelin throwers Chris Hughff and Mark Lindsay secured a double win.
Hughff and Uridge also triumphed in the triple jump A and B events respectively.
B events: 100m: Matthew Young 11.4 (1st), 200m; Karl Kraus 25.8 (5th); 400m: Andrew Thrower 57.6 (3rd); discus: G Hall 22.82m (2nd); hammer: G Hall (1st); high jump: Chris Hughff 1.60m (2nd); javelin: M Lindsay 44.09 (1st); long jump: Matthew Young 5.32 (1st); shot putt: G Hall 8.06m (3rd); triple jump: John Uridge 11.75m (1st).
Match result: 1st - Nestle Rowntrees 289pts, 2nd - Wakefield Harriers 270pts, 3rd - Gateshead Harriers 235pts, 4th - North Shields Poly 229pts, 5th - Leeds City 205pts.
