A record number of eight
lady entrants took to the roads around Carlton and Robin Hood in the 10th
race of the series. Newcomer Carmen
Pidcock made the running to come home 12 seconds ahead of league leader Denise
Green, with Jane Senior and Dot Hand following. Denise edged slightly further in the lead in the league table but
as there are two meetings left, we still can’t crown her league champion. The
men’s event was led home, in Steve Tibbs’ absence, by Rob Parfrey who had an 8
seconds lead over Richard West. Steve’s
absence puts the division one title once more within reach of Rob and Tony White
and Steve can’t afford to miss another of the last two events. The Vets championship really is a two horse
race now, with 7 points separating Tony Audsley and Stuart Anderson. Again, Tony can’t afford to miss either of
the last two events.
Accounts
We had £169-00 in the
kitty. We took £30-00 in entry
fees. Prizes cost £13-00, leaving us
with a balance of £186-00.
Next Event
Owing to the late Easter, next month’s league event
will be held on 8th May and will go from Walton WMC. The entry fee will be £1-50, with no food
provided. Tony Audsley will be putting
on the route.

thanks to everyone who gave me their opinions regarding the league structure
and affiliating the league direct to the Northern Counties. There’s still time to let your opinions be
known.
